In 1956, Grosse Steel Co. was founded with a simple mission: to serve all of Iowa and southern Minnesota with quality steel services.
Our Story
At the age of 16, Robert Grosse saw an opportunity to meet a need in the Cedar Valley and use a skill set he had developed under the guidance of his uncle. With a bit of dreaming and a lot of hard work, Grosse Steel Co. was founded. The business began by constructing steel railings out of a residential garage in Cedar Falls, IA, but quickly outgrew the space. In 1956, the current Grosse Steel Co. headquarters was built. Since then, the business has expanded into offering structural steel and hollow metal products to Iowa and southern Minnesota.
